Groupon FAQ's

This Groupon is intended to help us grow our client base and allow new clients to sample our work and get to know who we are. 

What is the best way to contact This Is Life Photography?
Due to our busy shooting schedule and popular response to our Groupon, we are not in the office during normal 9-5 hours.  It is best if you fill out our Q&A to start the scheduling process.  If you find that you still have questions, please email us at info@thisislifephotography.com.

What does the Groupon include?
Your $69 ($520 value) Groupon includes: portrait session ($250 value), one image on disc ($150 value), one 8x10 print ($60 value) and one 5x7 print ($60 value).  8x10 print and digital file are of same image.  Additional prints and digital files can be purchased, please see price list.  Groupon clients are offered discount with all orders.  To receive discount, order must be placed at the same time you place your Groupon order.

What does "one image on disc" mean?
One image on disc means you get to choose which ONE image, from your session, you would like to have put on CD.  Please note that this is NOT your entire session put on a disc.  However, if you love your photos, as most of our clients do, you can purchase the entire session on disc at an additional cost.  See our Groupon special price list.  

Who is This Is Life Photography?
This Is Life Photography consists of a husband and wife team, Steve and Marisa, and their super adorable 4 year old Madison, who enjoys editing in between singing, dancing and playing dress up. 

How are you able to offer such a great deal?

Due to the popularity of Groupon, we consider this merely a preview of what we do.  We hope that you have an awesome experience with us and you will become a life long client.  We also hope that you will share our work with friends and family and they too will want to book a session with us. 

Where will my portrait session take place?
All sessions take place on location - outdoors.  We have a variety of locations picked out in and around Phoenix.  Dates and location availability are subject to availability and lighting conditions, events, etc.  The locations we shoot at offer ideal lighting conditions and are typically photographer friendly.  Our locations include: Market Street at DC Ranch, Heritage Square, Sahuaro Ranch Park, Scottsdale Civic Center, The Groves, and Downtown Phoenix. Locations subject to change due to restrictions beyond our control.

Can my session take place in our home or location of my choice?
You can upgrade to a session at your home or location of your choosing for an additional $150 (within 20 miles of Downtown Phoenix).  This includes travel to your location and an additional 30 minutes of photography. 

How long will my session last?

Sessions typically last about 30 to 45 minutes.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure your session starts on time.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your photo session for any reason, please give us at least 48 hours notice.  If you fail to do so, you will forfeit your Groupon.  We understand things come up and we will work with you if we are given proper notice.  We are unable to reschedule your session more than once.

Can I buy this Groupon as a gift for family or friends?
Yes, you can buy one additional Groupon to give as a gift.  Groupons cannot be combined to have a longer or larger group session.  One Groupon per family/household.

What type of sessions is this Groupon good for?
Families, Children, Couples and H.S. Seniors.  Please note that newborns require special attention, and due to extreme weather, cannot be photographed outdoors.  If you want newborn photos, please upgrade to a home session where momma and baby will be most comfortable.  We want everyone to be safe.  If you have questions about this policy, please email us.

What if I have more than six people in my group?
If you have a group larger than six people, we charge an additional $10 per person, due on or before your session date. 

Who will my photographer be?
All sessions will be photographed by Marisa.

Do you allow for outfit changes? 
Outfit change can be added to your session for $60 per look.  This adds 30 extra minutes to your shoot time.

How soon can my session take place?
We are scheduling sessions to take place beginning in April 2013.  Dates are subject to availability.  We can not guarantee any specific dates.

How many images from my session will I get to choose from?
You can expect at least 15-20 images.

How long after my session can I order prints?
Images will be available approximately 4 weeks after your photo session.  We will email you a link to your password protected gallery once they are ready to view.  In person ordering sessions are available upon request (typically when placing orders above $450).

Can I substitute items?  ie: exchange the digital file for a gift print or swap the prints for digital files.
Items cannot be substituted.

Do I have to purchase any additional prints or products?
You are not required to make any additional purchases, but most people do.  ;)  That's why we've made the deal even sweeter by offering our Groupon clients a discount on prints and digital images.  See price list.

Can I scan, reproduce or email the images from my session?
Only digital images you purchase can be printed, shared or used online, social media, etc.  Prints cannot be scanned or reproduced in any fashion.  Doing so violates federal copyright laws. When in doubt, just ask.

How soon will I receive my prints once I have placed my order?
Prints will be shipped 4-6 weeks after your order is placed.

When does my Groupon expire?
12 months from date of purchase; March 15th, 2014. This means that you need to schedule your session to happen BEFORE March 15th, 2014.  We encourage you to email soon after your purchase to secure your portrait session date in our calendar.  If your Groupon voucher is not redeemed by March 15th, 2014, your Groupon will expire.  At which point, you will have a $69 credit towards future services with us.

Can my pet(s) be in the photos as well? 
We are people photographers and while we can photograph pets, it's not something we typically do on location.  However, if you're upgrading to a family home session and you want to include your pets, in their own environment, we are more than happy to accommodate this.
